The
most fruitful area of ministry is children’s
ministry. It is the ministry with the most potential. Young hearts
are open hearts. Children are ready and willing to receive the
truth and love of God. Their faith is simple and pure. Because
of this potential we have a tremendous opportunity to add many
to the Kingdom of God and raise up young disciples for Christ.
Because of this tremendous opportunity we have a great responsibility
to make the most of it. The only way we can effectively meet this
challenge is to be a team, a “dream team.”
The
Children’s
Ministry Dream Team is God’s Dream Team.
Children are at the heart of God. They are an important, essential
part of God’s family and vital to growth and discipleship
in the Kingdom of God. By applying the wisdom of God with the
grace of God we can be that dream team that God is calling to
take the
gospel message and break it into little pieces for this awesome
young generation.
In
Luke 18, Jesus had been teaching in parables when it records
that people began to bring children to Jesus
that he might touch
them. It goes on to say that when the disciples saw it that
they rebuked the people. But Jesus called them and said, “suffer
the little children to come to me.”
Our
Children’s
ministries are set up as one department called the REACH
Children’s
Department. We purposed to do this so that we could develop
and maintain a consistent flow of ministry with
our church from the nursery all the way to the teen ministries.
Each level builds and prepares young people for the next.
We have never met an adult who was not a child at least once
in
their life.
In the same way, we want to teach the Word of God to every
age group at their own level while preparing them for the
next class
and for a lifetime of love and service for the Lord.
The
Children’s
Department is sub-divided into 4 ministries which include
the Nursery (newborn - 11 months), Nursery (ages
1-2), Pre-school (ages 3-5) and Elementary (grades1-5)
which are provided each Sunday morning. Each of these ministries
offers specialized
classes, activities and ministry opportunities.
